Apalachee High School is a public high school situated close to Winder, Georgia, in the United States. The wildcats is the school mascot. Apalachee High School is part of Barrow County Schools, which is recognized as a Title I district. Apalachee High School receives student from two other attaching schools’ namely Haymon-Morris Middle School and Westside Middle School.
Apalachee was established in the year 2000 as the second high school to be built in Barrow County. As of 2024 the … the school’s enrollment stood at about one thousand nine hundred students of thehouse holds. By ethnic composition, there were white, Hispanic, black and smaller number of Asian students. Almost 50% of the students are of lower class background.
On September 4th, 2024, a terrible mass shooting took place in the school where four or more people were shot dead and nine others injured. A fourteen-year-old school girl was hunted down and arrested for the crime of murder to that incident.
Sited in the unincorporated region of Barrow County, the school caters to learners from the neighbouring regions.
